The American Heart Association is committed to helping our community live stronger, healthier lives through education, research and public policies that effect where we live, learn and play. New information in the areas of congenital heart defects, heart transplants in children, cholesterol levels in teens and diabetes rates in children as well as adolescents are just a few areas we are currently investigating. The Heart Ball is an event that focuses on celebrating all of the local successes of the AHA while raising funds for research and initiatives preventing heart disease.
The funds raised at the Heart Ball will support vital research and community education programs in northern Nevada such as research grants given at University of Reno.
The 27th annual Heart Ball will be held on May 8th, 2014 and continues to raise critical funds for life-saving research and community education programs in Northern Nevada. The AHA is dedicated to improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stoke by 20% by the year 2020—which is an ambitious goal. It will take the commitment of many to make this happen, which is why this year we are excited to honor Coach Ault for his many years of dedication and commitment to a healthy lifestyle through sports and the University of Nevada.
Please join us in the fight against heart disease and help us in this life-saving work.
